Troubleshooting

Start with the doctor command:

bunx burrete doctor

It checks the app bundle, Quick Look extension, qlmanage, and installed version.

Common checks

  • Open Burrete.app once after install.
  • Confirm the app is installed where you expect it.
  • Refresh Quick Look after replacing the app.
  • Check whether the file type is supported.
  • Use the desktop workspace when the Finder Quick Look surface is too constrained.
  • Confirm optional tools such as xyzrender or VESTA are installed before using workflows that depend on them.

Diagnostics bundle

The desktop app can export a local diagnostics bundle from Settings > System > Diagnostics or from the command palette.

Diagnostics bundles are local files only. They do not upload telemetry and do not include raw molecule file contents or structure payloads.
